Description
From Group of Local Grapegrowers to Owner Couple
Established during the Meiji period (1900s) in Yamanashi, this winery was launched by the local grapegrowers gathered to produce the wines for self-consumption within the community. Nowadays, with the trade name as ‘Soleil Wine’, the owner couple Mr and Mrs Suzuki who both studied the wine science majoring in microbiology and fermentation technology, are
consistently producing their wines particularly from locally grown grapes. The grapes they use are estate-grown as well as exclusively from the contracted grapegrowers within the radius of 5 km to the winery’s location. Their vineyards are maintained with no tillage and reducing usage of chemical application aiming tomenhance symbiosis of the environment. The wines are finished with minimum usage of sulfur as preservation.

Beneficial Insects in the Field and Sunny Weather
Produced from estate grown 9-year-old Syrah with Merlot grown at the neighboring vineyard and Aged for 8 months in French oak barrels (New barrel 50%).
Uplifting red-fruit note – red berry, strawberry & black currant with dark inky-touch then developing chocolate to earthy-dusty character like burdock. The aroma also presents green “minty” & “leafy” hints, along with vanilla texture derived by French oak, to create overall complexity in its quality.
The flavour has good sharpness of acidity content that potentiates to develop oily texture in mouth-feel, then after-palate shows spiciness like green chili, and gentle astringency to be left in palate whilst balancing by tannin and acidity. The quality of maturation may be increasing.
