Description
The Road to Wine
Owner Hideaki KOYAMA started his new endeavor relocating to Tomi-city in Nagano prefecture after working as an electronic system engineer. He challenged himself to plant grapevines cultivating a dormant old apple farm where it had been abandoned for many years. His company Rue de Vin was founded in 2008, followed by his winery establishment completed in 2010. At present he grows grapevines in his 5.5 ha estate and produce wines are of high quality without compromise.
4 Star Winery – Japan Winery Award 2024
Fruity balanced with Beautiful Acidity, Lovely Merlot
In 2022, the sugar content of grapes tended to be low overall. Red wines of these years are often lightly fruity and have a fine acidity.
However, even in such a climate, this year’s Merlot had enough fruitiness and abundant acidity, and it was a wonderful vintage with a firm and true impression in the roundness of Merlot.
In addition, in the lineup of 2022 Bordeaux red wines, “Deux Robes Violettes” blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and “Trio ’22” with Cabernet Franc are among the blended wines, and this “Merlot 2022” is the main player in charge of the volume of the fruit.
